Tell Us Your Love Story

- How did you meet?:  We met at a nightclub called ‘’Celebrities’’ for a mutual friends birthday party a little over 8 years ago.  He approached me and we bonded right away with tequila and house music!

How did he put a ring on it?

Clayten always knew I dreamed of going to Italy since I was a little girl and he decided to take me on a ferry ride to beautiful Giudecca (a small island close to Venice) . He took me to an empty rooftop bar and got down on one knee.  It was so magical and romantic having the view of Venice behind us, it all felt like a dream.

Where did you draw inspiration from?

I got a lot of my inspiration from Pinterest of course, and from watching a ridiculous amount of wedding shows.

What was your wedding theme & style?

We had a galm, rusticy, travel theme for our wedding. Our colors were blush and gold with lots of greenery.

What made the wedding personal to you?

I think the most personal element was writing our own vows.  We really had the chance to express our unique love for eachother and our relationship in front of our loved ones.

What were you most nervous or excited about?

I was most excited to finally walk down the aisle to Clayten, I knew he would look so handsome.  I’ve never felt luckier in my entire life!

Did you DIY any elements?

Almost all of my decor items were DIY. From our welcome mirror to our seating chart, I wanted to make the wedding as personal to us as possible.

Now, the most important part - the Dress!

Tell us about your dress?  I absolutely LOVED my dress!  I wore the Collins dress and It fit like a glove.  I didn’t want to take it off and even wore it for a few hours at our after party.  I would honestly wear it every day if I could.

Where did you find it?

I found it at a bridal shop called The Bridal Gallery in New Westminster, BC during a Randy trunk show.

What was your experience like?

It was actually quite hysterical.. the sample size was a 6 (Im a 10) so I put on the dress as far as I could pull it up (just below my booty) then my girls had to hold the dress up for me so I could get a better idea of how it would look.  Even with it half on and being groped by my 4 bridesmaids I knew it was my dress! I’ve been watching Say Yes to The Dress for 10 years so knew in my heart I would find a Randy dress!

Where were your bridesmaid dresses from?
Davids Bridal.

What was your most memorable moment from your day?

The whole day was so spectacular, it’s very hard to pick a favorite moment.  I think just the fact that we had all of our family and friends together to celebrate with us was my favorite aspect of the whole day.  A lot of my family is from out of town so having everybody here with us was very heartwarming.

What does marriage mean to you?

Marriage means getting to spend the rest of my life with the man I’m in love with and building the best life possible with my best friend by my side.  It’s about learning how to work through all the hard times together as a team and fighting for each other every step of the way.  I love knowing that I get to spend all the big and small moments with the love of my life!

Something New? My husband!

Something Old?  My grandmother's handkerchief

Something Borrowed? My best friends moms crystal hair pin

Something Blue? My garter belt

Anything words of wisdom you can pass onto future brides & grooms?

Just have fun and enjoy all the craziness of the big day.  Everything goes by so fast, and all that hard work and planning flashes right before your eyes.  Try to sneak away for a few minutes with your new husband/wife and really try to take in the moment as much as possible together.
